Hello there friends, a Not So Sloppy Sloppy Joe today! This recipe has always intrigued me, however, I never really like the "sloppy" presentation so I decided to make it not so sloppy!!! I really enjoy this recipe. I hope you love it too!
In a large frying pan, heat the bacon slowly to let it release its fat. When the fat has melted, add the onion and sauté until light golden brown. Add the ground beef and sauté it until you see some golden brown caramelization on the meat.
Add the pepper, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, Umami, Harissa, garlic and tomatoes sauce cover and cook for 5 minutes. Add the parsley and the cheese at the last minute.
Pro-Tips
For the Best Sloppy Joes Caramelize Your Onions
Take the time to caramelize your onions properly. Caramelization releases natural sugars, creating a sweet and savory base for your Sloppy Joe mixture. Don’t rush this process; use medium heat and stir occasionally to achieve that golden-brown perfection.
Bonus Pro-Tip: Soy Sauce!
For added depth of flavor, use a touch of soy sauce or umami seasoning in the sauce. This enhances the savory elements without overpowering the tangy tomato base. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!
